You can use rice water in multiple ways including direct application, usage in face masks, used as ice cubes or even as a face toner. You will feel instant freshness and tightness in your skin as you use it. 

Take a cup of rice, soak it in water for 30 minutes and pour the water out in a jar. Another way to do this is by using the excess water from the rice while it is being cooked. You can store this water in a jar and can refrigerate it, it can go on for a good week. 

If you are using your rice water in a face mask, simply replace the liquid ingredient with rice water.  You can also form ice cubes out of the rice water and apply it directly over your face.

Rice Water Recipes You Must Try!

Rice is a gentle ingredient that suits all skin types and works really well for sensitive skin. Rich in minerals, vitamins A, C, E, ferric acid, and antioxidants, this powerhouse ingredient promises brighter, smoother and radiant looking skin if used properly. Few recipes you can try at home with rice water:

  • Rice water face toner for pore-tightening: Great to shrink pores and refine skin texture, rice water when used on cleansed skin with a cotton ball, it shrinks pores and keeps oiliness at bay. Put clean rice under the strainer and wash it well. Soak it in a bowl with enough water for 2-3 hours or overnight. Strain the rice and keep the water. Store it in a spray bottle and use it post washing your face. This DIY face toner can be enhanced with 2 to 3 tablespoons of aloe vera for extra hydration!
  • Rice water face mask for instant skin rejuvenation: Boil some rice with enough water until it is soft and slurry. Now blend it well. Strain this gel-like liquid well using a net cloth and don’t throw away the leftover in the strainer. You can mix it with your favourite essential oil and use it as a body scrub! Transfer the gel like substance to a container and customize your face mask with rosehip oil and vitamin E. Apply it over your face and neck and wash it off after 10 to 15 minutes. Your skin will really look smoother and brighter. Use it twice or thrice a week and make it fresh for great results!
