What Causes Oily Skin?
Oily skin is the result of the overproduction of sebum from sebaceous glands. This could be caused by genetic, environmental, medication or hormonal changes. With too much oil being secreted, your pores tend to get blocked with dead skin, bacteria or oil itself, giving rise to acne.
Face packs can help revive dull, oily and tire-looking skin and are a great addition to your daily skincare routine. If you are looking for easy, homemade face packs that can rejuvenate your skin, control excess oil and tackle skin concerns like pimples, spots and tan and also help you relax – we have the perfect recipes for you!

- 1 tbsp rose water
How to use: Mix the ingredients in a bowl and blend well to avoid lumps. Apply the pack evenly across your face. Wait until it dries and then wash off with water. Use it twice a week for maximum results.
If you are wondering how to add a face pack to your weekly or daily skincare routine, here are a few steps you can follow:
- Cleanse your face using a mild face wash and follow this step with a gentle exfoliating scrub as it helps to get rid of dirt and grime from skin and enables it to receive all the nutrients and active ingredients from your face packs that follow.
- Apply toner or a hydrating essence using cotton pads to prep your face for the face pack.
- Use your favourite face pack and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. You can relax and unwind with a book meanwhile! Wash it off with lukewarm water.
- Apply a gentle moisturizer based on your skin type and follow it up with a broad-spectrum sunscreen in your AM skincare routine. In the nighttime skincare routine, you can apply an intensely nourishing under-eye cream and follow it up with a serum and a moisturizer.
